Game Birds specialises in the production of high quality
Quail and Spatchcock. The favourable climate and ready access to locally
available feed ingredients, makes the Darling Downs an ideal location
for the farm. Seasonal game birds such as pheasants and guineafowl are
also processed at the fully accredited abattoir.
Banyard Game
Birds, being a small producer, can concentrate on ensuring
that only the best possible products are packed for sale. The owners are
very confident and proud of their quail as they are bred, hatched,
grown, processed and packed on site at the farm.
Consumers can also be confident that they
are purchasing game birds that have been carefully produced,
individually processed by hand and quality checked a number of times
before packing.
The owners, Ken Orange and Ros Ferguson,
have a wide background of experience relevant to the efficient operation
of Banyard Game Birds. Ken is a trained poultry scientist with more than
30 years experience in nutrition, health, management and processing,
while Ros has skills in microbiology and is particularly experienced in
quality management systems such as Foodsafe.
